Cipher Recognized as a Cybersecurity Leader
Cipher was recognized as a top cybersecurity company by The Channel Company for 2021. The annual list showcases the Top 500 Managed Service Providers (MSPs) in North America. The company says the list features forward-thinking companies that are changing the IT landscape for the better. Cipher was included in the Security 100. This subset spotlights companies with deep cloud security expertise.
The 2021 list comes out a year since everything changed for businesses, workplaces, and the world as a result of COVID. The changes to the way people work and live during the past 12 months have altered the course of history for billions of people.
The remote workforce is the norm for many employees. Remote workers are using new devices and accessing networks from different locations. Hackers have taken note and ramped up attacks to capitalize on the chaos. Phishing campaigns used COVID testing, vaccines, and other changes to fool people. During the past year, organizations have continued to fall victim to ransomware and experience data breaches.
The new changes to the workspace were a factor in the rankings for The Channel Company which owns CRN. “Enterprises have increasingly adopted bring-your-own-device (BYOD) policies to provide employees with greater flexibility, and hackers have taken advantage of the change by targeting employees’ personal devices since they are often not properly secured. The growing use of remote location servers, smartphones and connected devices has also increased the likelihood of endpoint attacks or breaches,” said Michael Novinson, Assistant Editor at The Channel Company.
